The humble little teatime cottage above, a 4-bed Lake district house that debuted in March, received a good-sized chop this past Friday, perhaps courtesy of a recent appraisal of "$2,850,000 move in with equity." That brings it back to its original 2007 price, and to $694 per square foot, well below the area's average of $900 or so — so we can't really say that maybe what buyers are looking for is pre-2007 prices.
