None of their other strategies have gotten much traction so far, so the Atherton and Menlo Park and adding their names to a petition to get the East Bay route reexamined for high-speed rail. (Last week, a report commissioned by enviro and transpo groups concluded the East Bay would be better.) The petition alleges that the California High-Speed Rail Authority's ridership projections are "obviously and fatally flawed" — a problem that would presumably be fixed by having the route go through the East Bay instead...
