In response to the proposed sit-lie ban in the Haight — and perhaps many other neighborhoods — supe Chris Daly is proposing another "lie" ban on San Francisco's sidewalks. The SF Appeal has this one: "Lying is 'telling statements with the deliberate intent to deceive,' Daly said Tuesday, 'and I don't think we should be lying to one another on our city sidewalks.' " Finally, a call for general moral decency! The proposed lie ban is, just to be cheeky, almost identical to the aforementioned sit-lie ban, which would punish sitting and lying on sidewalks with up to a $500 penalty or 30 days in jail.
