Last week, GOOD magazine ran a short recipe for good neighborhoods. The usual suspects abound: public spaces, human scale, and diversity, to name a few. Also, there's the "signature event" — say, the now-dead Halloween in the Castro — and the "third place," somewhere you'd consider a haunt outside of home and work. Say, "the bar." Don't have a favorite bar, you say? Better find a new hood. [GOOD]
