John King takes a look at the mostly finalized plans for the redevelopment of Treasure Island, saying that it will be 2013 before anyone moves in. He loves the idea of dense housing matched with open space and a commercial core, and his main concerns seem to be that the 650-foot "landmark residential tower" might "loom" over the Bay Bridge. In addition to earthquake worries, sea level could become an issue. "[T]he ground floor of all buildings would be at least 42 inches above the currently projected 100-year high tide." Reassuring?
