Who knew that flash mobs were invented by a senior editor at Harper's magazine in 2003? That's besides the point: the pillow fights and other such nonsensical fun-gatherings are causing headaches for cities — not just San Francisco! — and the crackdown has begun. Philadelphia, for one, plans to hold parents legally responsible for their children's actions during flash mobs, and they've also enlisted the FBI to help monitor social-media networks for flash mob chatter.
