High-Speed Rail Report Postponed

New, 11 comments

The high-speed rail folks have been working for some months on a study that would examine all the possibilities for track alignments, including underground tunnels, raised tracks, street level, or even stacked tracks, with bullet trains underground and Caltrain on top. The release of that study had previously been pushed back to March 4 from December, but is getting nudged back again to April. A project lead has insisted the postponed report release shouldn't mean that any "project-level work" is off schedule, so everyone should keep firing on all cylinders, lest they miss the September 2012 groundbreaking deadline, and lose $2.25 billion in free stimulus money.
