The state's Historic Resources Commission approved a couple San Francisco buildings to its list of historic places on Friday: the century-plus-old Geneva Powerhouse, which is slated to become a community-oriented art center, and the big-domed Temple Sherith Israel in Pac Heights. Oakland and Brisbane also scored recognition for the California Cotton Mill building and a 1910 rail car building, respectively. [SF Appeal]
