Grow Your Own Leafy Greens in GG Park!

The fix was in from the beginning? So says one supporter of the HANC recycling center in Golden Gate Park (link through to video) which will be issued a 90-day eviction notice today. The Rec & Parks commission voted unanimously to evict the center, citing it as both obsolete and no longer a proper use of the park. They've been there for thirty-six years, employ ten people plus operate a private native-plant nursery, and for the past ten years fighting off attempts to close them. It's now on the brink of becoming a community garden- for which there's already a waiting list. Shocking. [KQED News and previously on Curbed SF]
