The fix was in from the beginning? So says one supporter of the HANC recycling center in Golden Gate Park (link through to video) which will be issued a 90-day eviction notice today. The Rec & Parks commission voted unanimously to evict the center, citing it as both obsolete and no longer a proper use of the park. They've been there for thirty-six years, employ ten people plus operate a private native-plant nursery, and for the past ten years fighting off attempts to close them. It's now on the brink of becoming a community garden- for which there's already a waiting list. Shocking. [KQED News and previously on Curbed SF]
