Artsy Bike Racks Installed Around Downtown

New, 1 comment

The SF Bike Coalition would like you to take note of the new, artist-designed bike racks popping up around downtown and Civic Center. Made from the same square tubing as the normal (read: boring!) upside-down U-shaped racks, the new racks cost about the same to produce. The difference is these racks come in fun shapes like the wave, the kind-of-slanted thing, and the map - our personal favorite which bears the rough outline of Treasure Island and marks the rack's location with an X so you can always know roughly where you are. (Hint: You're on Treasure Island.) The designs were picked from a submissions to contest held as part of SF Bike Coalition's work in "bicycle and pedestrian planning for Treasure Island," hence the connection.
