Louise Renne, former San Francisco Supervisor and City Attorney, is about to have a street named after her! Well, technically it's a broad, indoor boulevard on the first floor of The Pavilion at the new Laguna Honda Hospital. You see, in 1986 Renne took on the tobacco industry and scored more than $500M for the city. The funds were allocated to help rebuilt the Laguna Honda, which the feds were about to shut down. To say "hey, thanks," the hospital's Main Street equivalent has been renamed "Louise H. Renne Esplanade." [SF Gate]
