12 out of the 23 members of the Park and Rec Open Space Advisory Committee want to spend roughly $4,000,000 of its reserve fund to buy the Noe Valley Ministry Presbyterian Church parking lot at 24th and Vicksburg streets and turn it into a neighborhood town square. Since there are 23 members on the board and it was voted 11-1, there weren't enough to officially endorse it. However, Todd David of Residents for Noe Valley Town Square will use the interest as leverage when he attends a meeting with the Neighborhood Parks Council on Thursday. [SF Examiner]
