Yesterday at the Board of Supervisors' Land Use and Economic Development Committee meeting the bid to designate the North Beach library as a landmark was unanimously voted down. "To designate the North Beach library as a landmark "cheapens" the architectural merits of other mid-century-style branches," Supervisor David Chiu said.
