Beige Lady Gets a Dubious Superlative

New, 2 comments
Our post yesterday on the (possibly) oldest house in San Francisco gave us the idea to find the oldest house listed on MLS for sale right now. Where can you get your grubby little hands on a piece of history? Look no further than 841 Webster, a 3-bed, 1.5 bath built in 1875. "Vicky" sits a few blocks from Alamo Square and has been on the market for a few months now, even enduring a quick price chop to her current price of $899,000. Inside her tasteful beige exterior, there is an updated kitchen as well as a beige bathroom, and well, more beige. Outside, in lieu of a real backyard, the owners at one point opted for an illegal unwarranted cottage. So there's that. All in all, she's in really good shape for being 135 years young, but we think the subsequent owners may have stripped her of all her fun historic quirks. Despite a few cute period touches, this oldie but goodie is kind of a snoozefest.
