Not Such a Big Spender After All?

The SFBG served notice a couple days ago to SF Weekly, saying they didn't agree with how the alt weekly calculated how much money San Francisco blows every year compared to other cities. So the Guardian did their own number crunching. Their word: if we're judging by how much a city spends per capita, San Francisco's not so much different from other big American cities — if you crunch the numbers without baking in the cost of running transit, an airport, and other things. Which somehow makes sense if other cities don't include those in their budgets either. Hey, maybe we don't completely suck! [SFBG]
