The Planning Department today published its draft environmental impact report for a big Tishman Speyer project in "South Financial District": a 26-story, 350-foot-tall tower with restaurant/retail on the ground floor at 222 2nd St, not too far from their last office tower, at 555 Mission. The building, as required by the city's open space requirements, will also have a POPOS ("privately owned, publicly used open space") on the ground floor, and will have two levels of underground parking. As designed by New York-based Thomas Phifer and Partners with local firm Heller Manus, the project would be shooting for a LEED Gold rating. They're also planning on acquiring part of the adjacent lot at 631 Howard and demolishing the loading dock there.
