First Bay Bridge Pieces Arrive

So it begins: the first pieces of the new Bay Bridge eastern span sailed into the bay yesterday. Or floated in slowly on a ship, as it were. Caltrans now has eight of the 28 total needed to put the thing together, though the delay in shipment (for over a year) could push the opening past its scheduled late 2013 target. [SFGate]
