Nice Landscaping Coming to Presidio

New, 5 comments

Did you know that El Polin Springs in the Presidio is absolutely gorgeous? Well, you'll be happy to hear that the whole area's getting a lovely upgrade in the coming months, and the Presidio Trust is hosting a bunch of walking tours to show you just what's up their sleeves. Show up at El Polin Springs (at the end of MacArthur Ave) on Wednesday, September 30, 6-7:30 pm; Saturday, October 3, 10-11:30 am; or Saturday, October 17, 10-11:30 am. We recommend the Wednesday twilight walk -- with the sun setting and no street lighting, it should be extra eerie. So what's on the agenda for this historic site? Transplanted elderberry bushes for one thing!!! Please, everybody, try to contain your excitement. Also planned: replacing the ugly asphalt with boardwalks; adding benches and picnic tables; better landscaping; rehabilitation for the scary-looking stone WPA-era well; and "interpretive gardens". Also, crucially, bathrooms. Now will you come visit sometime?
