San Francisco officials are complaining that the high-speed rail folks are still hating on the future Transbay Transit Center— apparently their environmental study will be focusing on putting the fast train's San Francisco terminus either at the existing Caltrain station at 4th and King, or at a spot tantalizingly close to site of the "Grand Central Station of the West," at Howard and Main. The Joint Powers chief calls this "very disturbing" (translation: he's pissed), and says this isn't what voters pulled the lever on. Meanwhile, Palo Alto Online has a story about the High Speed Rail Authority taking the "we feel your pain" approach with Peninsula townfolk following a recent lawsuit over the fast train's right of way. Guess we know who they love more. [SF Examiner, Palo Alto]
