Decadence, At Only Luxury's Cost

New, 7 comments

While the average rent for a 1-bedroom apartment has plummeted over eight months from $2,350 to $1,874, it's begun to rise again ever so slightly, to $1,902. What's more, the inability of new condo buildings to sell their stock has them resorting to renting (the horror)— thus opening the door for yucky renters to live it up! Because the luxury condos at Civic Center's half-occupied Argenta, for example, allow for "decadent lives at relative bargain prices." Those bargain prices? According to Craigslist, $1,995 to $2,338 for a 1-bedroom, and $3,200 to $3,240 for a 2-bedroom. How we love a good bargain. [SF Examiner, previously]
