Forbes has unleashed their annual Most Expensive ZIP Codes feature, including an interactive map— the better with which to gawk at rich neighborhoods. Coming in at No. 1 is Alpine, N.J., with a median asking price of $4.14 million, but we're interested in the second-place city: Atherton, Calif., with a median of $3.85 million. The city, if you'll recall from a couple posts ago, is (coincidentally!!) one of the plaintiffs in the recently ruled on lawsuit against the California High Speed Rail Authority. There, says Forbes, the average annual salary is $122,571, and cars run on bald eagle heads and Faberge eggs. [Forbes]
