Fillmore revitalization is reaching unprecedented levels: tree wells! Have you been by recently? How does it look? Take pictures. They probably look nice, next to the other $15 million the city's spent to draw people back to the neighborhood. Owen Thomas' readers are "100% thrilled" by the expense -- another triumph for Business Improvement Districts!
The new trees are accompanied by a revamped website; last month we reported that the site was a bit lacking in content, but thankfully now it's filled in a bit. And then there's the upcoming jazz festival; and of course there's a Twitter feed; so these trees are all part of a much larger scheme. Whether or not the scheme works, well, that remains to be seen.
