Have you been to Mather Park? You should; you could be footing the bill. The city's owned the campground for about 85 years, despite it being 200 miles away from the city. It costs $1,100 to make a reservation, so it's unclear how much of a bill taxpayers are footing for this little getaway. Anyway, you'd better make the trip -- with times being as tight as they are, the market for expensive vacations is evaporating, and with it goes our campground's business. As the owner, you should maybe be concerned. [SF Gate]
