Gavin's Boast: SF Bleeding Solar Cash

New, 2 comments

Gavin has an essay over at Grist.org (what dot org?) about how SF's solar program is a huge success. Of course, he's got a funny way of defining "success": as more property owners learn about subsidies for installing solar panels, there's been a 450% increase in applications for handouts from taxpayers. So far, the city has given $700,000,000 worth of photovoltaics to private property owners, who have installed enough panels to power 5,000 vibrators for one year. Ha ha, we made that up -- actually, nobody's sure how much has been spent, and to what effect. Nicely done, Gavin! [Grist.org]
