A 1-bedroom unit in Stanley Saitowitz's award-winning metal cube has hit the market with an asking price of $649,000, $10,000 more than it was originally sold for. This is the first resale for a unit at 1234 Howard. As you might recall, this could very well be the same unit that was available for rent for a measly $4,500 a month (in addition to the $10,000 deposit) back in March. The unit is 886 square feet, so you're paying $733 bucks a square foot. Judging by what you've read in the past and are seeing in the photos, this is a minimalist condo that has all the fancy bells and whistles that you'd expect from an apartment featured in mags like Dwell and California Home and Design. There is no on-site security guard, but through the powers of technology any condo owner who attempts to bring in a bed skirt or hobnail butterdish will be forced out of the building via robots. We think this condo will sell quickly.
