Head to Head: Old or New?

New, 6 comments

Shall we have another round of Head to Head? This time we're fancying it up a bit, with one listing of a toy factory turned penthouse loft in the heart of SoMA and another for newly constructed luxury condo in South Beach. We're playing the old vs. new angle, so each home has roughly the same amount of square feet, beds and baths. Our first option is 1 Rausch Street, Unit H for $1,695,000. Unit H is the live/work space on the top floor of a converted warehouse that was built in 1909. It looks the part, with exposed concrete nearly everywhere and "dramatic exposed" wood rafters above the open floorplan. It has a a dark and warm neutral palette and also a private roof top deck. Your second option is 33 Clementina Street, #2 for $1,250,000. The building was built in 2006, and the condo has a "fabulous" private landscaped garden with hot tub. Brand new and top of the line appliances are included in this airy and bright modern home. What'll it be? Artistic and alternative in SoMA? Or refined and contemporary in South Beach?
