Things You Already Knew: Times are Tough for Construction Workers

New, 3 comments

We knew things were bad, but yikes: fifty percent of unionized electricians are out of work in San Francisco right now. Carpenters in SF face a 20% jobless rate, which about the same as the national jobless rate for construction workers in May. Ugh. One silver lining: iron workers are doing okay as long as they have the Bay Bridge to build; and stimulus funds are gradually putting people back to work. And fortunately, Socketsite commenters know exactly what caused and how to solve this problem, so that's a relief. [SF Business Times]
