Modern Steel Glass Penthouse in the Works

New, 11 comments

In the Mission? Looking to score a killer view of some new steel construction? Look to the top of 16th street, where architect Craig Steely is building a modern steel masterpiece. The building borders Corona Heights and is a private residence. After hearing "a house looks best when it's only framing" Steely decided to take a chance and try to achieve that aesthetic. The steel exoskeleton is part of a seismic upgrade that doesn't tear the whole existing building apartment. It also supports "decks on two floors and pack a bi-facial solar panels". The roof is sod, and there's a glass penthouse (for the wicked awesome views). Check out construction pics and renderporn after the jump. [Curbed Inbox]
