Muni will be ever-so-slightly faster, but only if they can convince people that an extra minute or two of walking won't kill them. Every few months, someone suggests that Muni eliminate stops that are too close together. (Muni has rules about spacing out stops, but it violates its own policy a whopping 82% of the time!) And every single time, the suggestion gets shot down. So, here we go again. If Muni can pull this off, the winners will be the riders whose transit times will improve -- except for the elderly and disabled, who will have to hobble a little bit further. Well, there's no pleasing everyone. [SF Gate]
