Office Vacancies Galore

Businesses are dropping like flies and leaving vacant office spaces in their wake, with the upshot being that commercial rent has dropped 24 percent. Not that lower rent is doing much for the office space environment, since no one's around to move in and pay the bill. And it's set to get worse when big guys Charles Schwab and Macy's ditch over 500,000 square feet of space in the city. On the plus side... well, maybe there's no plus side. [SF Examiner]
