Green Metal Hitting SoMa

New, 2 comments

Approved yesterday, 36 new homes in a 5-story mixed-use development at 345 6th St, current site of a vacant lot and a one-story building. The new building, designed by Kerman Morris Architects (who are tied to Gus Murad's New Mission Theater condos), will include "many" 2-bedroom units and "entry-level pricing for first-time homebuyers." Despite an economic environment "where banks are looking for your first two children before they give you a loan here," the Planning Commission decided it was worth extracting an additional below-market rate unit from the developers, bringing the total to six. Metal and glass abound, but it's SoMa, so we're cool.
