The American Apparel story still has some life to it, apparently; the Oakland Trib uses the now infamous parable of the chain store getting booted from the Mish to talk formula retail bans around the Bay Area. North Beach and Hayes Valley ban it outright, while it's restricted in other neighborhoods. And across the bay: "If you know what you're doing, you can use the Berkeley system against anyone you want," says one business owner. But recently Lululemon, a high-end yoga chain, slipped through the cracks when no one realized it was a chain. Much yoga ensued. [IBA]
