In Construction Shakedowns

New, 6 comments

Construction workers say they're being shaken down by mean police officers who enforce pedestrian safety around construction sites. The complaint: the cops, who by the way are supposed to transfer such enforcement over to the SFMTA eventually, are imposing crazy penalties for violations, for example $677 for double parking rather than the $100 imposed on non-hard-hatted citizens. Hey, the hard hats don't mean they don't have feelings. [SF Examiner]
