That's Rather Lovely: Modern Live/Work in Hayes Valley

New, 1 comment

Make sure your food's swallowed first if your gag reflex is sensitive to modern architecture, but it's not so often that the award-winning designs come up for grabs, and architect Peter Pfau's name has actually been popping up a bit at Curbed HQ recently— his firm collaborated on the LGBT Center, to which the planned Arquitectonica-designed building at Market/Buchanan has been compared, and Pfau's also responsible for the soon-to-open SPUR Urban Center. This Hayes Valley home: a 1-bedroom, 2-level loft style unit in a building with seven. According to Pfau's website, the building uses a "unique" sideyard court to fulfill light/air requirements, rather than a central light well or rear yard setback. Asking: $649,000.
