The idea pops up now and again: replace an entire class of workers with robots, or the Internet, or unpaid interns, or outsourced call centers. That architects might fall by the wayside in favor of pre-cooked blueprints isn't a new idea either, but for whatever reason houseplans.com gets ink for at least raising the possibility again: "Of the roughly 29,000 plans sold by houseplans.com, less than 100 are by notable architects like Turnbull. But the list is growing as the company bets that designs by nationally recognized architects appeal to a broad sector of design-conscious buyers in the middle ground between high-end commissions and generic mass housing."
