Move, You're Blocking Their Sun

Oh, snap: Portland-Pacific, the developer of 113 proposed units at 430 Main St, was gently bitch-slapped last night for only engaging the community a mere week before the initial Planning Commission meeting. We hear the word was "despicable." The problem at the time centered on a clause in the Rincon Hill plan that mandated unobstructed light from the courtyard of a residential complex— 430 Main St would have obstructed the light of neighboring BayCrest Towers (though it's said that doesn't actually violate code). Verdict: back to the drawing board now, and play nice with the neighbors this time. [RHNA]
