There's already been a fair amount of Curbed/Eater sharing these two days, but God knows we all want our own piece of C.W. Nevius. In today's Chron, the columnist has some pretty good talk about the loss of the Tonga Room, which he considers a distraction from the bigger issue of Fairmont's condo conversion. Look, he says, "you can't save everything. At some point you have to let go of the big, lavish single-screen movie houses, the quaint shoemaker on the corner, and the Tonga Mai Tai." How the truth hurts. [SF Gate]
