Architect Hordes to Converge on SF

Hey, we almost forgot — the American Institute of Architects national convention is in San Francisco this year, and it's going to be in one month. Hardly jovial times, however, especially for architects; according to John King, expected attendees are down to 20,000 to 22,000 this year, from sometime highs of 27,000. But convention planners have their finger on the pulse of architect nation. Between lattes at Piccino, they can attend seminars such as "Downsizing: What You Should Know." Sigh. At least they can hope they bump into Al Gore on the St. Regis tour? [SF Gate]
