Quixotic Architects Screwed By Madoff

New, 2 comments

The WSJ writes of the cruel irony that befell architect couple Arakawa and Madeline Gins, whose work "is premised on the idea that people degenerate and die in part because they live in spaces that are too comfortable. The artists' solution: construct abodes that leave people disoriented, challenged and feeling anything but comfortable. They build buildings with no doors inside. They place rooms far apart." A loft designed by them may or may not have cured one guy of hay fever and being 20 pounds overweight. Then Bernie Madoff swindled the couple, and all their whimsical dreams were dashed. [WSJ]
