Bike Plan Getting Its Day Soon

New, 10 comments

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition's director, Leah Shahum, had fingers crossed at a hearing yesterday for the end of irony: "irony of that when the city has set very strong environmental, health, livability and congestion-decreasing goals and still we've been held up." The city's bike plan, which has been on hold since a lawsuit led to an injunction against further bike-related improvements, is set to unleash bike lanes across the city as soon as July if an environmental impact report is certified and the injunction lifted. Board of Supes pres David Chiu has "only three words that I can use to describe where we all feel right now, which is 'We Can’t Wait'." What, no Yes We Can? [SF Gate / SFBG Politics]
