Storefronting: One Small Step for Union Square

With the forthcoming arrival of fashion boutique Façonnable (uh, how do you pronounce that?), Union Square has landed its first long-term lease since the third quarter of 2008. Hallelujah?! The store's taking over 253 Post, the spot vacated by defunct nose-trimmer store Sharper Image. No word on exact rent, but Façonnable will be paying "current" rates, with estimates of current Union Square rents hovering at 20 percent below last year's peak. Looks like retailers know how to spot a good sale too. [SF Business Times]
