The New Ghost Towns

Well, this isn't a pretty sight. When homes get foreclosed, banks call in cleaners to do so-called "trashouts." One guy interviewed says he tries to donate the stuff left behind to charity, but the trucks never show up on time and generally don't take everything, which gets the cleaners in trouble. End result: everything goes to the landfill. Some of the things he's seen left behind: birth certificates, computers, and one time, dude even found an urn with a loved one's remains in it. This is madness, people. [Boing Boing]
