Property Reassessment Scam Returns

New, 3 comments

Once again, letters are hitting homeowners' mailboxes advertising $180 worth of help in getting their properties reassessed, so that they might get to pay lower taxes. And once again, the city's own assessor-recorder has to reassure everyone that the city already does this for homeowners for free, reports the Chron. (They reported the same story back in February.) Scammers clearly rely on collective amnesia for all their scamming fun. [SFGate, previously]
