What a difference a year makes. The Presidio's Public Health Service Hospital has had its two nonhistoric wings lopped off, setting up the building's apartment conversion for its grand finale — sometime in 2010, according to an apparently old page featuring a rendering with the wings still attached. Developer Forest City, during its four-year engagement with the nearby community, agreed to downsize the apartment development from 350 to 154 units, and to get rid of the wings.
