Bikes, Interrupted

New, 6 comments

The operator of the city's proposed bike-sharing program, Clear Channel Outdoor, is pulling out because voters killed new outdoor advertising. (Clear Channel was going to pay for the program, which would have started with 2,700 bikes, with ads on bike stations.) Gavin's pissed as all hell now, and heads are going to roll: "I told (Muni chief) Nat Ford he won't be here if we don't see that thing happen. I say that with a smile on my face but not necessarily tongue-in-cheek." Operation Placate Gavin: in effect. [City Insider, previously]
