San Francisco's Internet class, meet San Francisco's chicken-wire Victorians. The Wall Street Journal reports that the culprit behind the terrible Wi-Fi in a ton of old buildings is the chicken wire stapled to wood for "lightweight support." Like a poor man's, Internet-ruining, Victorian rebar. The wire creates what's called a Faraday cage in physics, a magic box through which wireless signals cannot pass. [WSJ]
