Go Sit and Lie Somewhere Else

New, 4 comments

The Chron's editorial board, too, is fed up with the "street toughs" of the Haight. In a piece printed today, they advocate a sit/lie law like the one Berkeley's instituted for Telegraph, where anyone whose butt touches concrete gets the full force of the law: "Berkeley police have been enforcing it since September, and Telegraph Avenue hasn't lost its spunk. It's just lost some of that lawless edge. The Haight should be so lucky." It might also be worth noting that a judge recently ruled a similar law in Portland to be unconstitutional.
