Renderporn Ups Its Game

Architectural animations tend toward the utilitarian, with 3D flythroughs and such, but according to one professional renderpornographer, "People have become really anesthetized to architectural visualizations." Solution: up the ante, go artsy, or show something else entirely. One animation submitted by a World Trade Center redesign finalist created a film that "imagines the complex already built and tracks the reactions of people as they see it for the first time, jutting out from the skyline and peeking through the forest of skyscrapers of Lower Manhattan." And a firm in L.A. created a film-noir animation of a house they designed. Ante: upped. [Arch Paper]
