In a sign that maybe those 401ks weren't wrecked so badly after all, a Newsweek story paints baby boomers as partial saviors of the American housing market. "On the cusp of collecting Social Security," they're spending their wads of cash on pampering themselves— one in four boomers, in fact, owns either a vacation home, land, or rental property on top of the home they already live in. And according to the National Association of Realtors, it's "a trend that will continue." [Newsweek]
