Cost of Place (Hint: It's High)

New, 2 comments

In the name of chasing down the "cost of place," the Urban Land Institute has launched a website and report called Bay Area Burden. Both aim to reveal the cumulative costs of housing and transportation based on where a person or family lives and works. Case in point: a fifth of all Bay Area homeowners spend more than half of all their income on housing, compared to the nation's 12 percent of homeowners. This, and other fun facts, at the website, along with guilt-tripping calculator. [Bay Area Burden]
